Creon / pancreatic enzyme insuffienecy help.

I've recently been started on creon, it's been a huge help, but other than being told take 2 with meals in 1 with snacks or a milky drink I haven't been given much information. I'm seeing my gastro consultant tomorrow, but wondered if anyone has any advice/hints on what I should or shouldn't be doing. I feel a bit overwhelmed which probably sounds silly. How milky does a drink need to be to be creon worthy?! I forgot to take it with my meal last night, I had horrible symptoms after so thinking of having a few bottles dotted around to remind me. Thank you!
Edit obviously insufficiency not insuffienecy!

Can you ask for a consultation with a dietician in the gastro dept? I take Creon and had advice from a pancreatic dietician in the dept where I had surgery. FWIW I have 3 creon with my breakfast (usually porridge or museli), 4 or 5 with my lunch and around half a dozen with my main meal, although it all depends mainly on how much fat /protein I'm eating - the more fat, the more creon etc.

For a milky drink I would take 1 capsule. The dietician told me that I would know if I wasn't taking enough Creon because my stools would be very (very) loose whereas if I'd misjudged and taken too much I would be constipated. I've been taking it for 4 years now and can judge by eye what I'm going to eat & how much creon I need - it's practice makes perfect, lol.

If you're on Instagram or Facebook there is Pancreatic Dietician who posts lots of advice/info about PERT.

Thank you @MissMarplesNiece, that's so helpful. I'll ask about the dietician tomorrow. Glad to hear you can judge it by eye mostly now! Sounds like it's a learning curve. I've been ill for 9 years with symptoms so it's nice to finally start having a bit of control. I'll have a look on that facebook group too.
