@TomeTome my online assessment i done honestly. What i can do on good days and what i cant on bad days.
i would always be honest, i wouldnt want to lie. As they can inform people so wouldnt get anywbere by lying xx

You don't need to tell anyone and the application can take weeks if not months sometimes. They will probably reject the first time so re apply and then you have an interview face to face usually and it's usually after that a decision is made. Good luck it took me 3 trys of applying before they finally acknowledge I have a disability

TomeTome · 12/12/2023 12:17

What I meant really @Starrrz was that lots of people say do your worst day but that made me really anxious so I found it easier to just say how often it was hard and how often it really wasn’t a problem. For me that worked brilliantly for benefits but not for blue badge where we hit a problem which was eventually resolved by my MP.

@TomeTome yeaah i would be too anxious to lie, ive never had any form of financial help. Ive been very honst and hopefully i get some help. Do get pip? X

You dont have to let your employer know. I have recently started to claim Pip and my
Employer does not know. They didn't contact my Gp but I sent off all my Gp/consultant letters and reports and a list of all my gp appointments to show I was under review and a list of my medications. Good luck. I didn't find the process as bad as some people say

Starrrz · 13/12/2023 18:42

@DoctorZero im glad it wasnt too bad for you, did u have a phone assessment? Xx

@Starrrz yes it was a phone assessment. It was face to face at first but I called and changed to a phone appointment

There's no reason to not want your GP to know I don't think.
Please be aware that PIP isn't designed to cover you for not being able to work, there's other benefits for that. PIP is designed to help cover extra expenses that you have as a disabled person. So, for example, if you use orthopaedic shoes then they'll cost you more, if you have a wheelchair then you need to pay for it, visual impairment may require extra glasses. Stuff like that. I don't mean that you have to spend it on those, but it's designed to try to level the playing field.
It's also devilishly difficult to get...

What benefits are there, for not being able to work? I am interested as I have not been made aware of that.
Currently waiting for another work capability assessment.

Citizens Advice Bureau are really helpful for benefit applications. They're very used to them so will know how to phrase things in the way assessors are looking for. I definitely recommend going to them for advice. They can support at any stage of a benefit application process.

my gp has had a letter sent this week about pip. Is this a positive sign?
