Medical people - what's the name of this heart condition please?

I had to have paramedics out a few months ago and whilst checking me over they mentioned that I have something which means that my heart's electrical signals take longer to get round, but I can't for the life of me remember what it's called.

They well quite casual about it and said it's very common.

I've googled and wondered if it was Long QT syndrome.

Has anyone got any ideas?

There are loads things that could mean! Best bet is to show a real life HCP the ecg they did to get it interpreted properly.

Thank you. I wish I could remember the name because I haven't got the ECG anymore and it's not been mentioned/picked up when I've had others.

Yeah if it was long QT syndrome they wouldn't have been casual about it. You'd have been referred to a cardiologist.

If they were v casual about it and you don’t need any follow up it’s probably first degree heart block. Can’t think of anything else that wouldn’t need follow up.

I wonder if they meant ventricular ectopics which are nothing to worry about. Anything else involving electrical conduction should have been referred to a cardiologist

Well that's what I thought when I googled it! I'd also have thought it would have been picked up by someone else.

For various reasons I've had a few ECGs and echoes over the last 12-18 months and no one else has mentioned it.

I wish I could remember because they did give it a name but they also said it was very common and didn't need looking into.

I'd hope if it was something that needed surgery to fix then they'd have referred me on to someone.

SVT is quite common I think. Also not everyone would need an operation. How annoying you can’t think !

I was in a lot of pain and then they gave me morphine so I don't think I was in the right frame of mind to remember medical terms or have enough about me to write it down.

Do any of those have more complicated sounding names?

I want to say tachycardia or similar was in the name because that's why I asked them what it meant.

Really should've paid more attention 🤦🏼‍♀️

They did but I must've chucked it away.

It was my gallbladder but I was in so much pain, including chest pain, that they gave me an ECG when they came out.

They took me to A&E and I dont remember anything heart related being mentioned in the hand over so they must have been satisfied it wasn't an issue.

I'm not a cardiologist but I have a healthcare background.

Of my own experience - I had tachycardia (fast heart beat), chest pain and a right branch block due to sepsis and they said it was nothing to worry about because it wasn't the left side. Conduction didn't take the most straight forward efficient pathway (in lay person terms).

It is annoying when you can't remember and then wonder what it was.

It's very annoying that I can't remember but I can only assume it's not an obvious issue or something that needs treatment because I've had a few hospital stays which have involved ECGs and echoes and no one else has mentioned it.

I got told I have a right bundle branch block, or whatever it's called, post-ECG. Occasionally get huge crushing chest pain and fast heartbeat.

Had no follow up from GP or anything!

Funny isn't it that sometimes there's no follow up for these things.

I was surprised because I'm not sure I've ever had any symptoms of anything.

The only things I ever get are occasionally I feel like I can feel my heart beating more strongly than I should be able too. Not necessarily faster, but harder if that makes any sense.

And I also, but infrequently enough that I've never mentioned it to a medical professional, I also feel my whole body tingle slightly and feel like I'm spinning/falling. I clearly have no outward signs though because I've felt it in the middle of conversations with people and they've never said anything.

No idea if any of that is in any way related or something I should get checked out!
