Constantly thick mucous stuck at back of my throat

Just this.
Apologies for too much yucky information bellow.

I had some horrible cold or something similar a few weeks ago.
I had horrible sinusitis with my nose nonstop running/ sneezing for about 10 long days.
I also took Antibiotics.
Since last week it seems the inside my throat ( the back part leading from my nose) there is lots of crusty mucous, absolutely impossible to get it it.
Literally last week this thick mucous lump sort of dislodged into my throat causing me gagging and vomiting as it was impossible to get it out, in the end it came out but new one still forming daily.
I don’t know to do!
It’s just terrible and I can feel it above in my throat but it won’t come out.
I tried inhaling, hot drinks, hot baths, catarrh medicine anything…
please advice

Have you tried an antihistamine, like loretidine/cetirizine? This can help dry up secretions.

If it is also allergy related, as pp have said, daily nasal washes can help. Also, an air purifier, damp dusting, opening windows regularly and generally limiting contact with allergens. Wash bedding on 60 degree washes, wash pillows and duvets regularly too (also on 60 degrees).

Yes I’m taking antihistamine daily.
It seems lots of people have the same thing.
The cold or whatever was it, was pretty long and very annoying, I thought it could be Covid but tested myself twice daily and it was always negative.
My lungs are clogged out too a bit now, I wonder if the from the mucous from my nose and throat that drips into my throat and airways, or is it physically impossible?

I had a cold in 2011 and felt like this after. I still feel like this now. Not gone away. Have this everyday. Like long covid only long cold. On high dose cetirizine and a nasal spray with no effect.

Yes, your post nasal drip can drip into your airways. It's all linked. When I've had it (after a cold), I find my lungs are worse when I wake as, I guess, it has been dripping into them whilst asleep. I think we deal with the phlegm better when awake as we are swallowing more and actively protecting our airways.

Also, have you tried sinus massage ie massaging your face? Sometimes this can help drain the sinuses so reducing the constant drip.

I was just wondering, do you work in a dusty environment?
