Substituting B12 injections with spray

I'm having lots of trouble accessing the injections I need. I've become very unwell but cannot pay privately.

I'm going to try a massive dose of the sublingual spray, although I don't think it will work as I have pernicious anaemia it is worth a try because I can't go on like this.

Don't say to contact the doctor, they are only offering the end of January and even then there's no guarantee they'll switch me to monthly. Even if they did there's usually at least month before they can fit you in.

I have thought about walking into A&E because I'm so fed up of the whole thing and desperate. If I were obese or a smoker or a drinker I'd get help. I've had nothing from the NHS except my birth but now that I need something they are a slow, inefficient, beaurocratic nightmare!

Any idea on how much I should try?

I feel your pain, I have pernicious anaemia and get the injections every 10 weeks. They stopped them completely during covid and I was round the twist - found a support group and now self inject if needed between my appointments. Versandpo I see have been suggested, that's who I buy from and it's very easy to inject in the thigh.

@betwelve - the OP I had (which directly caused the need for B12 jabs) was just before 1st lockdown. I wasn't given any B12 for over 18m. I was literally falling over, incredible brain fog, depression etc. But my iron, folate, vit D were also clinically very low so each thing was blamed on the other thing or just 'health anxiety'. (luckier than my Mother: her grade 4 cancer was missed due to 'HA': she subsequently died)

Re subcutaneous injections - I had IVF on rhe NHS (admittedly 20 years ago) & wasn't shown 'how to inject' just sent home with the drugs in an 'injector pen'.
