Hello!

I've been on here ages but have NC.

I've been unwell with what I thought were vestibular migraines for months but had an MRI as I have epilepsy too and lo, there's a tumour!

My specialist couldn't confirm the type without a further scan with contrast dye but thought it may be a slow growing variety. I have everything crossed for something like this if I must have it at all but it's a bit worrying!

Just trying to get my head around it if anyone's out there.

I have just had a call from the pharmacist saying my steroids were ready when my Dr hadn't said to expect any (I have a clinical background so know why I've been prescribed them. It just threw me for a bit of a loop that I wasn't expecting them then the pharmacist mentioned oncology. Not sure why!)

It's all so worrying as I'm mid to late 30s and want children and what if i can't now.

Still awaiting results to find out what the bugger was and whether any further action needed as it has turned out to be something unusual and not a ganglioglioma (although team think likely not needing further treatment and hopefully lower grade).

Some visual disturbances (lights and swirls) making it harder than it hoped to get back to normal although wound is fine and not much pain left. Dr says it's well within expected timescale for visual issues to clear up but they're a bit of a PITA! If they continue another month I may have to defer my course a year which is hoped not to have to do but of course the main thing is the operation went well and I'm here to tell the tale.

Sounds like you’re doing really well. It took my bestie a good 6 months to recover from surgery and a full year to return to work. Even then only part time. 1.5 years later she’s back doing full time but every day is a struggle with fatigue. Hope you don’t have to wait too much longer for results

Thanks! Bless her, what a soldier. Sounds like a long old process but she's hanging in there. I hope the fatigue goes eventually too. I'm definitely feeling a bit more tired than I used to but the main thing is the visuals tbh

HI @Catunderling , I just found your thread and I'm wondering how you are now?

Catunderling · 02/10/2024 08:15

Hi! Thanks so much for asking, just waiting for scan results post surgery and radiotherapy (they have to wait a while for swelling to settle so it feels like ages) so quite anxious but better than I was. The eye issue isn't perfect but it but it has thankfully massively improved. just really hoping for a good result!
