Well my HV said now it would be a good idea to give these to DS as he is no longer drinking formula and drinking cows milk instead.
He has weetabix, bread and butter, bananas, cheese, yoghurts.
He also eats powdered make up food (chicken and veg} and pasta jarred food too.
Is this a new fad or something?
I'm not convinced that he needs this stuff.

My DS had these about 6yrs ago, he started to drop in weight so they gave him them, drop in weight was actually in my opinion due to the fact that he had just started to crawl and was therefore more active, the way I saw it though was that if he didn't need them it wasn't going to do him any harm really. These days food is so lacking in good nutrients even our fruit and veg! Even if you just give them during winter months when we all could do with a little boost, it'll help boost his immunity aswell which means less colds etc which can't be bad!

Yeah, but he is a good weight and very good health up to now.
Which is why I'm a bit curious really.

if he gets a good range of fruit and vegetables and proteins he's probably not going to need them .. but it can't hurt TBH

if he's old enough for cow's milk I assume he's a year .. why are you making him powdered and jarred food .. you can move on to him sharing your dinners in most occasions (provided cooked without salt)

Why am I giving him powdered food and jarred?
Because he refuses my home cooking! Thats' why I'm giving him powdered food and jarred.
I'm fully aware of all the wonderful food he could eat, but he's a fussy eater. Mind you my cooking skills aren't brill,so I don't blame him.
Typical eh?

So it won't hurt? or Is it pointless?
Or Both even?

It sounds like he's getting a good diet to start with, and is in good health. It's kind of like having insurance for him, if you give him them, it's kind of just in case he doesn't get enough of something in particular one day, you can be sure he's not going without. IYKWIM!

Yeah I think that's it?
Anytime I took vitamins though, I always came down with a stinking cold!
