D&V - with toddler and newborn misery

Hi,

thank you for reading. I have been up most of the night with D&V. I have a 7 week old combi fed baby and a 2.5 year old toddler. My DH has stayed downstairs with the newborn and bought her up to feed, whilst the toddler has spent most of the night crying, as she likes to co sleep and DH has been downstairs and I’ve told her she can’t sleep with me as I’m in the toilet most of the night (I’ve been using the en-suite and don’t want to change bathrooms, as I want to contain it as much as possible).

I’m not getting any better and so so anxious about my little ones getting it. WWYD - any advice appreciated

If little ones get it they will be fine. Just it's super hard work

Wash your hands, keep the hygiene up. We all ended up with conjunctivitis when I had a new born and a toddler, despite my best efforts.

I know what you’re going through, it’s horrible with d& d&v and so hard with children.

Keep cleaning, bathroom after you’ve been unwell and keep washing hands etc.
My dh didn’t get it as he slept separately, used different bathrooms and was cleaning everywhere himself. My little one did get it though so she stayed with me. She was feeling bad for a couple of days but definitely recovered much faster than me!

Thank you so much for your replies.

I’ve seen lots of bits on the internet saying to carry on breastfeeding if EBF, but as my baby is combi fed, would it be better for me to pump and stay completely away from everyone? Just worried about contaminating the pump. It’s a bit of a minefield.

No good advice other than total sympathy.

Watch your fluid intake and put on as much TV as is needed, try to just hang on.
