Any dentists about?

I currently have two 'dead' teeth (which I think is because of being accidentally headbutted in the mouth many months ago). Now, those dead teeth are a little uncomfortable again, and one of them feels slightly loose. I've booked a dental appointment for Monday but won't be able to see the (experienced) dentist I saw last time. Instead it'll be one of the NHS dentists who at my surgery always seem newly qualified and who don't tend to stay too long.

I'm really quite apprehensive about this and am hoping for some advice so I'm not going in totally blind about what they might tell me. If you have a slightly loose tooth that you know is dead, what are the options for dealing with it? Is it removal/implant? Something else? I don't know if crowns/root canals are something that I might be offered. I've never really needed anything done to my teeth before so this is all new to me (I'm in my 50s). Any comments, advice or reassurance before I go on Monday would be really appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,
after a trauma there’s always a risk of root fracture . Also when dead teeth become loose can be due to infection.
mid you have a dentist whom you trust waist to see her/him . Clinical examination and X-rays are necessary. Sometimes a 3D scan as well .
if you needed to remove the tooth , again best to do it with a surgeon or implantologist as we sometimes do bone graft on removal or place implant immediately.

good luck with your dental treatment .

Kensington, I totally missed this at the time as I didn't check back after I had my appointment. The dentist I saw recommended I just wait for now and not mess with it until we really had to, so that's what I'm doing. I'm really grateful for your advice because I know it will need sorting at some point, and now I know what to ask about (the tooth is tender when I run my tongue over it, but any movement is currently very small, and it's mostly not bothering me too much right now). I'm sorry my thanks were so delayed!
