Portable bidet after hip replacement. Anyone used?

Hi all. I'm having a hip replacement in a couple of weeks and was wondering if a portable bidet would be useful. (either the squeezy bottle type or battery operated)
Does anyone have any advice or recommendations please?

For the first 24-72 hours you will possibly be catheterised and then literally transferred from the bed to the bedside commode. After that mobility isn't terrible for most petite and you can move about with a zinger frame. Getting up and down off the loo is fine in hostel as they have bars etc and hopefully by the time you come home you shouldn't really be struggling too much? I didn't need anything like a bidet and was just very careful. If I had a #2 and didn't feel clean I'd have a shower. I was very unfortunate though as I got my period the day after my hip surgery and that was a nightmare as I only use a moon cup. Normally to insert/extract it I put my foot on the sink for easy access..... not possible!

Don't bother, you'll be ho out of bed within the first 24 hours and begin exercising - the physios will make sure you can climb stairs if you have them at home, before you leave. I've had both mine five, was walking a shirt way on the evening of my surgery.

I've had one hip replacement 5 yrs ago and recall difficulty in twisting around to wipe properly, hence my question.

You can get a portable bidet insert for the toilet which could be helpful

Ok understand where you're coming from. But I still think you don't need one, you'll be showering anyway?

I won't be showering after every visit to the loo!
