What does asthma wheezeiness actually feel like?

Cos I have some sort of upper airways infection I think which I think probably isn't bacterial, so probably no ABs.

My upper airway feels very tickly as I breath, especially breathing out, and generally uncomfortable in a kind of non describable way. Does it sound like the broncho-constriction associated with asthma? Is it worth going to GP to see if I can get some broncho dilators or steroids even though I am not asthmatic?

are you wheezing best to get checked out any way

Not excessively noisy most of the time. A little bit whistly after a coughing fit when I am a bit more uncomfortable.

To me it always feels as if the air is somehow too thick so it's more effort to breathe. My throat itches too.

I agree, best get it checked out.

are you struggling for breath or out of breath more easier than usual, worth going to GP but I would resist steriods unless you absolutely have to have them

I am not struggling for breath (or I would be in an ambulance right now - I am not that stupid....or at least I don't think I am ).

Out of breath a bit easier than usual - yes - espcially in the cold weather, but then I am no great athlete at the best of times.

It is not just the back of my mouth that is tickling, it is my windpipe in my neck too.

I don't think I am putting in more effort to breath, butI certainly more aware that I am breathing IYSWIM.

I will probably be taking DD3 to GP tomorrow so I will make an appointment for me while I am there. I just didn't want to waste GPs time with the generic diagnosis "you ahve a virus go home and rest with plenty of fluids..."

Have been asthmatic all my life and wheeziness feels like you have a belt around your chest and can't breathe in properly. Never had any tickliness though.

I don't get any tickling with my asthma but its like no matter how hard you try you can't take a proper breath.
