Thrush and BV! Help!

Ahhh I'm being tortured by either thrush or BV and I need help!

I struggle with thrush when I get it. I'm one of those very unlucky ones who needs intensive treatment to get rid of it when it flares up including 6 monthly treatment of fluconazole!

Last week I felt like I had piles so I used a seposatory and all was resolved. Coincidentally, my lady region became very uncomfortable at this point. I predicted thrush as there was intensive itching so I started my normal routine of pessasarys and fluconazole but there was very minimal improvement.

I'm actually wondering now if i many have BV. I've seen you can buy tests in boots to test at home to see what's going on. Has anyone ever used these?

I know the wise solution would just to go to the GP but I just haven't had the time and my GP will not triage this as urgent so likely wouldn't get an appointment until next week :(

@SAJMUM101 hiya! I'm the OP on thsi yhread, I've just changed my name since :)
Unfortunately i think it is just a case of riding the wave if you're someone who suffers reoccurring thrush. As soon as I get symptoms I contact the doctor and ask for the oral fluconazole l. Normal it's 3 does for 2 weeks and then once weekly for 6 months to keep it at bay.
It's very frustrating and can be difficult for the go to take it seriously. I will often use the pessary as well as the tablet when it's particularly bad.
If your suffering I would 100% recommend asking for the long term fluconazole. You can buy the tablet, unbranded from Asda pharmacy for £3 whilst you're waiting for a GP app!

Are you breastfeeding? I only ask because I also suffered terribly from breastfeeding thrush so if you are BF just take extra care as that is even harder to get rid of!
