How manage awful sore throat and asthma?

Hi
I've had an awful sore throat for 4 days. No temperature, negative for covid, no cold symptoms. No spots. Just very red throat, massive glands and throat is quite closed in at the back. It's been so painful to swallow I've had to resort to taking codeine at night to get some sleep for a few hours.

I know it's a virus and will pass but the problem is my asthma inhalers. It's getting to the stage I can't bear to take my dual inhaler as you need quite a lot of force to suck it inwards. It's not the type I can use with a spacer. Anyone had this before and if so what did you do?

Chloraseptic? It’s a numbing spray, most pharmacies stock it, that may help. Gargle with salt water and keep taking paracetamol (but not at the same time as codeine) I hope you feel better soon.

Difflam spray. Gargle with salt water or TCP.
If you can't use your prescribed inhaler then maybe phone 111 to see if there's an alternative?
