Should I take their word?

Went for an ultrasound last week, and was told by the person doing it all looked ok and normal, and the doctor ordering the scan would ring me in a few days with results.

Usually when I go for anything like that they don't say anything only I'll hear from my doctor in a few days, the usual.

I'm always v anxious around scans so am wondering should I take her word that everything is fine or am I being paranoid and she says that to everyone to calm them down.

Imagine if she said that things were fine but what she actually saw was awful for the patient.
When the dr informed the patient that things looked terrible for them do you think they would let her comments slide?
Would you, or would you put in a complaint?

If she said things look fine they must be fine, try not to worry too much. I hope when you speak to the gp they can reassure you.

Just ask for a copy of the report when you see or speak to your GP. And no I don't think the word of an HCP is ever to be trusted without seeing the evidence.

They never tell you it looks fine unless they are pretty sure.

If you've got the NHS app you might be able to see the report on there, I can for the last scan I had.

Thanks all, I'll just have to wait for the official call from my doctor, it wasn't done thru NHS so that won't work.

Hate tests so much, thanks all for taking the time to reply x

I had scan 6 months ago they said it was fine whilst quietly saying they think they’d seen a fibroid but seemingly overriding said everything was fine so it’s pays to check.

Gave it 10 days, called my GP surgery who then said I could only have a GP follow up IF something had been found on the scan and so the receptionist made me an appt telling yes you have a Fibroid. Eventually after the 4 week wait (which felt a waste of appt) to see GP they referred to nhs gynae with no further discussion whether I got lucky (I have since heard other people have to beg and for bigger fibroids so I’m confused and feel a bit unsmart just knowing the size as it was 6 months ago now)

Whilst I have the nhs app I seem to just see bare bones despite getting the code letter from my surgery. It seems to differ quite a bit massively as my parent can see really detailed consultations going back years and full test results when they are at a doggier surgery to my liking.
