2yr old being sick at night after tummy bug.

If this continues much longer then I'll be contacting the GP but just wondering if anyone has experienced similar in the meantime! My 2yr old had a tummy bug through the night on Wednesday and the morning on Thursday. He was sick multiple times but ok by around 11am. Then that night he was sick again around 11pm. The next night he was okay. He's been absolutely fine during the days. Eating ok and playing happily. He wasn't sick on Saturday night but was sick again last night at around the 11pm mark! Is this common after having a bug? Normally my kids have been sick multiple times but then are fine. Very strange that it's only at night and always around the same time!

Are they coughing or snoring? It could be that it's not a tummy bug but linked with breathing issues - I don't mean something scary but like a virus or similar.

Both me and my boys get like this when we have colds and it's because you're led down and resting. It's not uncommon but in the case of my 6 year old is a sign that he needed his tonsils out and uses an inhaler.

Nope no coughing! And I don't think he's snoring either. He wasn't being sick at night until he got this bug. I've just never known one to keep making a reappearance at night time!

I would keep an ear out for snoring or breath holding. It might just be an odd tummy bug but can't hurt to be sure!

Tbf it's weird but this is exactly what happens to us 🤦‍♀️ lol

I have a young family member who was very prone to vomiting due to anxiety, swallowing air or gulping food and drink. He would often vomit in the evening after his bedtime drink.
He had to be reminded to drink slowly, take small sips and burp.
He's bigger now, and can manage his throat more easily, but can still burp loud enough to rattle windows😁

Yes, this exact thing happened to my DD about a year ago, fine all day and threw up several times a night for 7 nights in a row, it was torture. GP had no idea why. She does snore and have very large tonsils and is prone to bouts of sickness that keep coming back so I suspect it may be linked somehow.

He's ended up in bed with us otherwise he wakes his sister and he's not snored whilst he's been in with us. I'm really hoping he's not making himself sick so he can get in bed with me. Really wouldn't surprise me 🙄
