Ok, am slightly concerned.
DS (13mo) hasn't eaten properly since Friday but is a very fussy eater anyway and is drinking lots of water, and will have his milk so am not too worried atm.
BUT
He puked up his entire lunch this afternoon and then this evening had a nappy full of runny white poo (sorry if TMI).
I've not fed him anything he hasn't had before.

Should I be concerned at all?
All opinions/advice welcome!

Pale very smelly poo is sometimes related to gallbladder problems (bile makes poo darker and stops it smelling as much). If he has not been well it's probable just that Have you spoken to your GP or HV? If you are worried contact your GP or NHS direct 0845 46 47 they should be able to offer you some advice

Thanks Kaz.
Have just been reading NHS direct.

It was only the one white dirty nappy.
I will see what his next one is.

I didnt even know that babies could have gall bladder problems.

My DS (9 months)had very pale yellow/white runny poo during a vomiting and diarrhoea bug. Didn't go back to normal until he was eating normally again

sophiewd · 10/03/2008 18:18

DD has not really eaten for a few days due to heavy cold and has really only had milk and fruit, so her poos were soft and very pale, now she is eating again they have returned to normal colour.

Often after a tummy bug the body won't digest fat very well for a few days (because it takes a lot of energy) and will just take the carbs and protein from food and let the fat pass by, resulting in pale poo.

Your gall bladder produces stuff to help you digest fat, so if poo stays white for ages after the bug has gone it means there might be something up with it.

my doctor said if white or has blood in it then needs to be seen any other colour is ok {my ds had green poo}

hope ds feels better soon

Thanks for advice everyone.
Will ring GP tomorrow if poo is still white.

(they don't tell you that you'll need to know this kind of thing do they!?)
