DEXA scan and fractured vertebrae

I have 3 yearly DEXA scans as a result of a stress fracture in my tibia. The most recent scan showed normal bone density but 2 fractured vertebrae (T4 and T6). I have completed an e-consult for the GP but have had no response.
Has anyone else experienced this? I'm happy to go privately to try and prevent more fractures but have no idea what speciality I need. I am only 41 so am really worried that this is happening before I reach old age!

Most DEXA scans look at the bone density of your lumbar spine and hip, have your regular scans always covered all your spine - ie are these fractures definitely new? Have you had any accidents or any trauma/ gym injuries that could have caused them? Any pain in your upper back? If your bone density shows that you are definitely not osteoporotic or osteopenic then you won’t need any treatment, it may be worth talking to your GP about a referral to a specialist to be sure - this would usually be a rheumatologist.
