Hi all. Not really sure what I am expecting from this post. I just feel like I am slowly going mad. My GP has just given me these results and referred me under the 2ww for colorectal cancer. I thought I was ok but I am not. I am 46 with 2 dc and I feel like I can't breathe, and I don't know how I can get through the next few weeks.
I only had bloods done to check if I was absorbing my HRT. Everything was ok and now it is not.

Thanks, for the advice.

Nurse on the 2ww said that because I am constipated this week (colonoscopy next week - mon) she recommended I take a gentle laxative (over the counter) to start getting things moving. Took 1 pill Dulcolax last night.

Well what can I say..woke me up at 3am, felt like I was having childbirth contractions and something was going to burst. Incredible pain - was rolling on the floor next to toilet for 2 hours. Finally passed small pebbles followed by diahorea and have been 4 times since then. Sorry for the graphic details but saw lots of jelly mucas and blood. Feel so ill I've had to go back to bed. Bad shooting pains in lower abdomen still Is this normal?

Dreading starting the prep solution on Saturday.

Ah @RhubarbCustard7 that sounds horrible. As you were constipated this sounds normal after dulcolax. @worldwidetravel2017 gives great advice re prep.
I would say just try to keep hydrated, up until you are no longer allowed to drink. I had to stop 6 hours prior as I was having gastroscopy also.
I was on the toilet within 1 hour of taking the prep. Honestly you think you have nothing left but that's good because that means the procedure will be successful. It is like you are passing water by the second dose.
Take it easy I felt so much better afterwards and honestly with the sedation the procedure was fine (much easier than the prep 🤷) and I had the best kfc ever afterwards.

My latest bowel polyp biopsies came bk ok

An mri has shown gallstones
Also liver issues
And some gynae stuff

Lots going on

RhubarbCustard7 · 14/12/2023 13:58

Oh no @worldwidetravel2017, sorry to hear you have all that going on.
A lot to deal with there all at once. At least you have some answers even though it's probably still very stressful.

I feel like I've lost my whole insides today. It's not easing up yet. Definitely not going to attempt another one before the colon clear out juice. Been in bed all day.

Just want to get it over with now.

@Allthecatseverywhereallatonce

I'm so worried that I'll still be popping water and gunk through the colonoscopy! Hmm

The prep solution gets it all out of u

Allthecatseverywhereallatonce · 14/12/2023 15:53

@RhubarbCustard7 you won't be pooping believe me, I thought this but honestly it clears you completely out.
I had a polyp removed which has come back normal.

My dad had same symptoms. All normal at endoscopy and colonoscopy.

Lots I see through work are totally normal

worldwidetravel2017 · 14/12/2023 22:44

Another colonoscopy next year 4 me

RhubarbCustard7 · 16/12/2023 22:44

@Allthecatseverywhereallatonce
Glad your results came back ok.

I've had terrible aches since the laxative I took this week on Wed night and haven't been toilet since.
Have no interest in food today- something is going on in there Xmas Hmm

Start the prep solution tomorrow. Have the wipes ready.. eek

Allthecatseverywhereallatonce · 16/12/2023 23:41

@RhubarbCustard7 all the best with your prep. It will soon be over.

Goodluck
The prep is the worse bit
It gets better from there

Had the colonoscopy this morning.

Procedure wasn’t too bad as I was knocked out with the sedation. They removed 3 polyps between 3mm&5mm in colon which they found and took biopsies of the cells around them. They also found 7 ulcers (few bleeding) at the top part of colon (highest point). They took a scraping of them too, but thinks they are caused by Crohn’s disease rather than cancer as it was a bit inflamed.

So have to wait and see what the results of the biopsies are.

Bowel polyps are common

Sorry to hear re ulcers

@RhubarbCustard7 glad you are through the colonoscopy. Hopefully not too long to wait for the results.
