Wound healing

NC for this! I have a condition that causes abscesses and usually deal with them fine

I've had one on my knicker line, at the front of my thigh crease and I can't get the bastard to close! It's not deep but every time I move/exercise it's just not giving it the time to heal

Any miracle suggestions? I tried spray plaster and nearly had to peel myself off the ceiling with the stinging. Also savlon wound gel
Reluctant to see the GP as last time they used silver nitrate then implied I was a wimp for saying I wasn't having it again because of the pain...

I can probably post a photo if it helps

You can buy steri strips at the pharmacy, would that help? If you’re sure it’s not infected I mean.

I don't think it would.. if you imagine a small round hole that's what it's like

How small? Much depth to it? It might need packing

Moist healing using a hydrocolloid plaster? It's slightly stretchy and might help prevent stress on the wound edges. Not if the abscess is still draining, of course.

I've had to crop the pic a lot! It's sitting right on the crease so I just felt it reopen when I got up then
The wet looking stuff is wound gel

Tonight can you give it a good air for a few hours lying down. Might have to cock your leg to keep it exposed rather than in the crease.

Boots do a “wound healing gel” which is really good.

Pop it on then keep it covered for a day. Repeat until healed. Use a waterproof dressing on top of a normal dressing so it doesn’t get wet in shower.
