Oral thrush - alarmed!

Hello, my 13 year old has had a recurring bout of oral thrush - although it possibly returned because we stopped the treatment the first time too soon. Her GP has now ordered a blood test and I am a freaking out a bit as I see oral thrush is rare without underlying conditions. She's not taken antibiotics recently or had any other medications, seems perfectly healthy and energetic, eats a reasonably balanced diet (although maybe not balanced enough for a vegetarian) but I'm really worried why its sprung up now. Has anyone had it for no particular reason? Is that possible? Thank you.

Has he had blood tests to rule out low immune system?
Did it have it as a new born?
My daughter gets it.. was born with it but has Reumatoid arthritis.

No, not had it before and will have a blood test now. I am worried because there is no obvious reason for it.

Hormones and puberty will be playing a part in this, ditto sugar which feeds candida. Would remove the former from her diet for a few months to see if it vanishes without a trace

Ah, that's interesting. I did wonder if there was any kind of hormonal link, but I couldn't find any information that suggested that was the case (except in menopause!). I'll watch her sugar intake too.
