Twisted Knee Ligament

I've had quite a few problems with hips over the last 3 years and am now in possession of 2 lovely new ones - problems solved? Oh no, now I've got a twisted ligament in my left knee. I did think it was a knee replacement job so was quite happy when physio said knees show no signs of arthritis but ligament is damaged. Well, I thought that would be an easy fix - wrong! I see physio once a week and do the exercises but every single damn morning my leg from knee up to top of thigh is so tight and painful I'm finding it very difficult to be positive. Anyone suffered from this and found a working solution? I have a small tens machine and use that every morning which is quite painful at time but does loosen the muscle but OMG I despair some days. Thanks for reading and letting me get this off my chest - any helpful tips appreciated.

I fell and twisted my knee a month ago. I couldn’t walk for two days but it improved. I have been going to sports clinic for laser treatment and massage and it’s improving. I think maybe I just sprained the hamstring tendon but I thought I had knackered my medial collateral ligament initially.
Incidentally I am going for a right THR in January so you have given me hope!

Thanks for replying, I have to say I'm loving my new hips but there's always something - the joy of getting older! Just feels like 2 steps forward 3 back some days.

Just a quick follow up in case anyone is interested. Someone told me at my local aqua class that her father had lots of leg problems whilst on statins!! What? Anyway, I have started to slowly reduce the brand I am on and am waiting for doctor to phone me on Wednesday to talk about changing brands, but I cannot actually believe how much easier my leg is without statins - no thigh pain, no need to use tens machine, I am actually astounded that no one in the medical profession has asked me about the statins and connected the 2 problems. It really is unbelievable. I remember at the time when doc put me on blood pressure tablets at last check up that she mentioned that it would be a good idea to have statins too - my fault I never questioned why, not even sure what my cholesterol level is so I need to follow that up but I do find it quite unnerving for this to happen.
