She's been on steroids once before and they really helped but these ones that's she been on since yesterday don't seem to be helping much.

She's had her brown inhaler last night and this morning and is having 2-4 puffs of the blue one every 30-60 mins so far today. I'm a bit worried as she's coughing a lot still and still wheezing noticeably.

She isn't blue at all and isn't having trouble breathing other than the coughing and catching her breath with the coughing. Should I just carry on and see if the inhalers and steroids help or call the drs back again?

She's also saying that it hurts when she coughs. She's never really been this bad before with it either.

Well the steroids should clear it up if it's the asthma causing the problem.Ds also has occassions when the steroids don't work ,is she on a big enough dose?Maybe she has an infection there as well.
Was she given a nebuliser yesterday?
Also her muscles could be aching because of the constant coughing, maybe a bit of calpol would help.

Nope no pets or pain and nothing new.

Just seen the dr and he was very helpful. He said he could give antibiotics to help as well but as she had some last month he would personally wait and see. She is very wheezy and rattly but ok in herself. He said he'll see her anytime today if I think she's worse and to keep up the blue inhaler.

She hasn't had a nebuliser yet. I'll see how she gets on today. He said she isn't blue around the lips or nails which is a good sign (I was looking for that myself) and that the medication should help but to keep giving it. He also said they put the equivelent of 50 puffs into the nebuliser so giving her 2 puffs every 30-60 mins is fine. He is a very good dr and I trust him so I'll see how she goes. He said it was asthma causing the problems as he checked her over for infection as well.

Thanks again.
