My tummy has felt a bit funny all day. I don't feel sick, just a bit urgh.

Ds (5) has been for a poo 4 times so far today and is now saying he feels sick, although he seems to have forgotten about it now.

Dd1 (10) is due to go on school trip to France at 2:30 am Monday, she simply cannot be ill, she'd be devestated if she had to miss the trip.

Sounds like what we all had. Didn't amount to much, just made us feel nauseous all week. Give your DD Echinacea today and tomorrow. Send her with the travel sickness wrist bands and ask the Pharmacist if there is anything for diarrohea for a 10yo. And lots of fluids, try to flush it through. Hope she enjoys her trip.

She'll probably be fine - be scrupulous about hygiene, don't feed any spicy or dubious foods and bear in mind she might feel slightly off due to jitters anyway.

CrackerOfNuts · 08/03/2008 23:12

Well so far so good. Ds spent the rest of the day running around like a loon so he is obviously fine and I felt well enough to eat way too much pizza for tea.

Dd hasn't felt ill at all so fingers crossed everything will be ok.

I think my dodgy tummy might be nerves actually.

I actually agree with what BB says about sickness. My poor DD managed to contract cryptosperedium(sp) whilst she was away in France with her class. We actually all went down with it on the Wednesday and she came down with it on the Thursday, (she went away on the Monday) and we didn't know anyone was ill). The Sch were brilliant esp the Head Teacher.

All I can say is what an adventure!(obviously not for DD who was hugely embarrassed about Head Teacher (Female) taking her trousers off!) DD is very very shy!

CrackerOfNuts · 08/03/2008 23:25

I'm not knowingly sending her though as non of us have actually been ill.

If she were to be sick tonight or tommorow then i'd not send her. If either me or her siblings were sick tonight or tommorow then i'd explain the situation to the teachers and leave it up to them.

Hopefully my dodgy stomach is just due to nerves, as I am worried about the travelling with the bad weather.

Ds wsn't sick and hasn't been to the loo at all since I first posted either, so I think his problem might have been too much orange juice rather than a bug.

Then do not worry. Ours happened after DD went away. It wasn't until she came back that we realised that she had been ill too. We then looked at a wider scale and realised that most of the Dc had been to our middle DD swimming party a week before had been quite poorly and so we called in the environmental health agency. They confirmed Cryptospiridium 20 out 23.

All I wanted to say was that the Sch were great.

pinkbubble · 08/03/2008 23:31

PS we sent our eldest DD away. It was because of our middle DD why we were so ill!

CrackerOfNuts · 09/03/2008 08:32

Sounds awful pinkbubble.

Mine is definatly nerves. I felt fine when I woke up, and then remembered that she goes today, and then felt a bit queasy.

I'll be glad when she's gone, and come back.

Dd is going to a PGL centre too . They sound like very well organised and fantastic places.

Thankfully dd1 rarely gets ill, it is normally dd2 and Ds that catch everything going.

Dd seems a bit quiet today so i think she is a bit nervous now.
