Breast lump - so worried

Hi everyone I’m 25f and found a hard, moveable breast lump smaller than a pea in my breast I can move it in between my fingers.

I went to the doctors and I have been referred to go to the breast clinic at the end of the month . I am so so scared have been Googling non stop and have got myself into a bit of a state really. I can barely sleep. I guess I’m looking for a little reassurance. Has anyone been in a similar situation and it turned out to be okay?

thanks so much. 😥

Stop googling. Or rather, google one last time ... 'fibroadenoma' - as that's probably what you have. And then - no more googling!

I know it's very hard to keep calm but overwhelmingly the chances are that you'll be just fine. Promise!

Thank you for your kind message , googled that and it made me feel a lot better . Just going to try and relax and be positive. X 💫

Please try not to worry. This is honestly the toughest part of whatever you are facing. As pp say, stay away from Google. 90% of lumps are nothing serious.
There are many many folk on here who have been through all this.

The fact that it moves is a really good sign, most breast cancers are fixed and immobile( mine was) I was told all the breast cancer info online is around 2 years out of date anyway, so please step away- you will feel much better.

@Pumpkinpiespooks34 sorry you are having a scary time. If you want to come and hang out on the Cancer support thread we understand the terror.
Nine out of ten referrals to the Breast Clinic are for benign lumps.

Thank you so much everyone for your lovely comments . I’ve come away from google now and am going to fill the next couple of weeks with things to keep myself distracted ! I’ll keep this thread updated with the outcome too. 💓

My first was at 15!

OP, am sure all will is fine. As a PP said, stay away from Google and try to concentrate that the odds are in your favour that all is ok. The fact your lump is moveable is potentially a good thing. It might even be just a teeny tiny cyst. If it's the latter, they will aspirate it at the clinic.

Speaking of which, you will be in very safe hands and have a triple assessment - mammogram, ultrasound and a physical examination. They will also take a comprehensive history. Be advised you may not have a mammogram due to potentially having dense breasts due to your age. Don't worry if this is so, ultrasounds are incredibly effective. If needed, they might do a biopsy on the day. Again, do not worry if this is the case, they're just being thorough. The nurses, radiologist and consultant will explain everything at each step of the way. Except to be at the clinic for a few hours.
