Icon white spot treatment - fluorosis on teeth

I have had white patches on my teeth since childhood and it's made me very self conscious. I have heard about a treatment called Icon that can easily make those spots disappear quickly and painlessly. No drilling etc.

Has anyone had this done before? What are your thoughts? How long has it lasted for you?

Can you get your teeth whitened before doing this or is it best to leave them alone for a while before treatment?

Any info/experience would be greatly appreciated.

Normally a combination of icon and whitening does the trick. Be warned whitening can make the white patches look worse at first.

whiten first then icon. However a small percentage of people will not notice much difference so there are no guarantees but most will notice a large difference in appearence of a white patch

My biggest fear is spending hundreds of pounds for the white spots to look exactly the same as before. I have seen great transformations online but I guess no one will post the cases that didn't work.

Think I'll try a course of whitening and then do icon. Otherwise last resort will be composite bonding over them which i really don't want to do.

You don't have to have composite bonding over, micro abrasion or minimal preparation with an air abrasion unit to remove the white spot and then composite will normally give a good result.
It all depends on the extent of the white spots .

The dentists I've been to don't seem to offer the micro abrasion or are reluctant to do it. I'm not keen anyway as I don't like the idea of a layer of my teeth being scrubbed off really, hence why I really hope this icon treatment works.

I'd love that perfect smile but I'm too scared to have anything invasive and would much rather just have healthy teeth minus these awfully annoying white spots!
