Fallopian tube removal / salpingectomy - recovery?

Hello,

I am scheduled to have one fallopian tube removed due to a hydrosalpinx in the next couple of weeks and need to make plans for work and childcare. For anyone who has had this done, how long afterwards could/did you return to a desk job and how long afterwards could you look after a toddler on your own?

Thank you

I think you will most likely be signed off for 3 weeks although I recovered pretty well in the first few days. Good luck.

watching with interest, as I am having both removed shortly

I had one removed a few years ago and recovery was really quick the wounds were sore for a few days but then fine I was back at work within a week.

Really quick - I lost both mine due to ruptured ectopics - nearly died on the Tuesday and was back at work the following Monday.

I had mine removed as emergency surgery.
Signed off 2 weeks as default.
Went back to work at 2 weeks, but probably should have taken a third week off.
Did pull out all the stops to go to a wedding reception after 1 week, but wasn't much good for anything but sitting.

I've seen people recover much faster after similar (but different) surgery - one friend had a gall bladder removed, and retiled the bathroom week 2 of her signed off period!
