Thinking of trying this for DD (2.4) who seems to be having a problem with recurring ear infections.

Any recommendations/ experiences?

thanks
alice

I'm in Luton and I know my neighbour took her daughter to one in Bedford. I can get details if you want.

jasperc163 · 10/03/2008 15:27

Many thanks Feetheart. Bedford is a bit further than i would like as i am slightly nearer to Hitchin. But will get back to you if no luck.

Anyone else?

thanks
alice

hi there, we use a great place in Hatfield (just off A1M) - may be too far but they have done wonders for dd2

JingleyJen · 10/03/2008 15:30

can't help with a practitioner but CO worked like magic with DS2

jasperc163 · 10/03/2008 15:52

thanks both. I am not sure what to do as all the articles i read about CO for ear problems say that the cause is the compression and misalignment etc at birth. DD had quite a lengthy course of CO when she was a baby for reflux, so i am not sure if that means the compression etc should have been sorted and that CO is unlikely to help in this case?

Hatfield is a bit nearer thanks Nuru if you could give me details in case?

thanks

ps JinglyJen - was the CO for ear problems too?

yup Jasperc.
first 5 months of life he had 5 perforated ear drums. then I finally listened to my friend who had been telling me to go to this CO. the lady was great.. she said if she was going to be able to help it would be within 3 sessions. So we had a maximum outlay of £100 which helped Dh swallow his disbelief and agree.

well he is now 17 months old and we have had one perforation since but that was about 6 weeks ago after a long and horrible cold we had in the house.

We had -through bupa- been to see an ENT specialist who was great as well but he was very clear that it was a "manufacturing fault" that he would probably grow out of.. apparently the drainage tubes were just far too small.

Not sure how 3 weeks worth of CO can correct that but it did

Hope you find someone..

the link for the hatfield place is the Penn Clinic

redclover79 · 10/03/2008 20:12

I've been going to shefford osteopathy clinic, been having treatment for my back, found them very good. They offer cranial osteopathy too, hth?

jasperc163 · 11/03/2008 08:44

thanks everyone. I am tearing my hair out - she seems to have constantly slightly red ear (GP say her yesterday and said no sign of infection or fluid) and a temperature. Its been going on for weeks and I start back to work soon!

Cindy McIntyre in Letchworth. Excellent (though not used for ears).

jasperc163 · 11/03/2008 09:03

She works on her own, out of a dental practice. My hv gave me her details originally. I'll have a look this afternoon to see if I can find her details if you can't trace her by then.

jasperc163 · 11/03/2008 11:01

Thanks Cantsleepwontsleep - i've found her on google. What did you use her for?

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 11/03/2008 12:25

She treated dd when she was 6 weeks old and we still couldn't lie her down without her screaming her head off. Seems her head was still a bit compressed from the birth.

jasperc163 · 11/03/2008 12:36

thanks - am going to see her tomorrow. Fingers crossed it helps as DD is not totally off her food.

jasperc163 · 13/03/2008 13:58

hi there
