Dental argh! Crown still hurting after two years

I had a crown on a back tooth two years ago and it’s still really bothersome. I can’t chew on that side because it’s very sensitive to heat and cold in particular.

My dentist has done a million X-rays and can’t find any clinical reason for it. He says he can drill it out and basically do root canal fillings but without a clinical cause he wouldn’t recommend it. And it will be very expensive.

It’s so frustrating and can’t be good for my remaining “good side”. Has anyone experienced this or have advice? There are no NHS dentists here so every trip and treatment costs more and more money too!

Mine is the same if I don't floss religiously,I only have to miss a day and it flares up. I have to floss twice a day and it's fine.

Thanks for the reply! I floss once a day although I’m not sure that is helping. I’ll try upping my flossing. I’m wondering about asking for it to be removed and redone or even replacing it with an implant. It’s miserable!

I'm having the same problem. I find it hard to floss because there's almost no space between the drowned tooth and the ones on either side. I can't get floss down one side.
