For the last few weeks it just seems that one of us has been ill after another and it is a vicious circle.

DD1 was off school all last week last week with a really bad cough and cold, during that time I had the doctor out to DD2 to be told that she had a nasty sickness and diahorrea virus and she came out in really painful lumps, that calmed down, and lo and behold two days after this she got flu, I have never know either dd1 or dd2 be this ill before, she had streaming eyes, nose, headache, tummy ache, in the middle of this I got her sickness bug which left me feeling really really ropey for a couple of days, I foolishly thought that things may calm down, but both dd1 & dd2 have now got a horrendous cough which keeps making them both sick and they have temperatures of 38.9 & 38.2 respectively.

It isn't helping that I have to deal with them during the night as DH 'doesn't hear them' . So hence I am absolutely shattered and he can't understand why I am in a bad mood especially when I have a go at him cos he can't make me a cup of tea.

Any tips on how to make this time pass easier would be GREATLY appreciated.

TIA

Dizzylizzy, no tips I am afraid (but interested in any that come this way). Just lots of sympathy. We seem to have had weeks of illness. Chest infections, toothache,& menstrual cramps have incapacitated one or other of us since the beginning of December and now ds has chickenpox and he is covered...

I think this does tend to happen from time to time in families - it's horrid! Only tip I can think of is to do whatever you can to boost all your immune systems - lots of fresh fruit and veg, vit C/multivitamin supplements, echinacea?

Dizzylizzy, I don't think there is anything you can do really except sweat it out and do as many 'cosy' things as you can like watching videos and letting the house go to ruin for a bit. We've had one thing after another lately too and I can't remember the last time I had a good night's sleep ...

We had this a couple of weeks ago. You just have to sit it out! Beg someone (anyone - I was texting all the teenagers I knew to bribe them to come round after school one day)just so the DDs have a disserent face to see and maybe you can get out of the house for 5 mins. Also, kick your DH hard when he can't hear them at night. I find a good kick in the legs and a "Your turn now" normally does the trick
