what is it? is it anythign to do with co ordination as i have a problem with that.

luminarphrases · 06/03/2008 21:02

its about co-ordination and motor skills.

according to doctor today, quite a classic sign is, whilst drawing as a child, you end up drawing off the page because you can't manage proportions

luminar - i have not passed my drivign test and when i tried to do CBT for a motorbike the instructor said i had no depth, time and speed perception. i found that when i was driving car/motorbike it was overwhelming all the stuf i had to do! also i cannot learn routines, like aerobics! i can see it but my body just cant do it!! it could explain alot!

Dh said as soon as he met me that I had it too! Bit embrassed to do anything about it though, how did you get diagnosed?

Pollyanna · 07/03/2008 09:45

i really think my dh has this too (our ds does), what treatment/help/coping mechanisms are available for adults? How did you go about getting a diagnosis?

My friend has it in his family too. His daughter doesn't learn about dangers. She could walk in font of a car and get a real fright, but then do it again five minutes later. It does run in families from what I gather.

pollyanna- a doctor noticed me twice walk into doorframes when i took my dd for a check-up, and got me an appointment with a dyspraxia specialist. there is nothing much they can do at my age, but there is quite a likelihood my dd will have it too, so it will be useful in a couple of years. (im pretty sure my dad has it too, come to think of it
