Dentist New Patient Cancellation .

I went to a Dentist today and filled out a new patient form . I later found out that the Dentist is private , and I can't afford the fees . When I ring up on Monday to cancel the New Patient registration , could I incur any fees , do you think , or will it be a straightforward cancellation ? Could they have already made me a New Patient appointment , and could a cancellation of this incur any fees ? I am a bit worried about this . It just goes to show you should always check a Dentists website beforehand . Thanks .

I doubt you will incur any fees.

So long as you are cancelling with more than 24 to 48 hours notice (depends on practice policy) you shouldn't incur any charge.

That is if you have an appointment . If you have signed up to a plan you have a cooling off period so again you should incur no charge.

Do you have an appointment? If so, when is it?

If not, then no, there’s nothing they should be able to charge you for.

Don’t think they could enforce a fee, or would, even if nominally you’re in a cancellation period.

Ages ago now .All sorted out .Simply rang up on the Monday ( 2nd oct.2023 ) , I think .After a bit of confusion , I cancelled my new patient account . I am still waiting for an NHS Dentist that I can join in my area , though. I have filled out some NHS new patient forms and heard nothing back . Awful checking who is now accepting new NHS patients in my area . It is literally crawling by , isn't it ? There are literally a handful accepting in my area , and most of them are the same names . I wonder when I will ever see a NHS😀 dentist again ?
