Headaches 10 days after tooth extraction

I had a back lower jaw tooth removed 10 days ago, and since then i seem to be suffering from headaches that start midday, everyday. The gum itself seems to be healing ok, but there is obviously new pressure on the teeth that are left to do the work. IYKWIM. Could this be causing the ache? Will the other teeth/gums get used to being relied on?

I've also had a cold since around the same time i got the tooth out? Wonder if its sinus's? It hurts on the tooth side, and i seem to be a little light sensitive at the same time.

Any toothy people out there that can shed any light on my pain. I hate taking painkillers every day.

TIA

You must have a hugely high pain threshhold to be putting up with that for days on Nurofen fox!! I'm SURE the recovery pain will be NOTHING like the pain you have been going through! All the best!

thank you everyone. I am actually enormously cheered by your positive messages. I'm sort of hoping the pain won't be TOO much worse than what it is now iyswim. And I've had surgery on bones before (when I broke my nose badly) so I sort of know what I'm heading for but hell, it has to be done so I'm just hoping they find a slot for me tomorrow and that'll be it. I really don't want to wait to have this done. Sigh.

How are you all feeling? (sorry, thread has become a bit foxinsocks self obsessed hasn't it lol).

You know what I am dreading - this liquid diet. I've had 2 bowls of soup today and I am RAVENOUS. My stomach is crying out for food. How will I manage for SEVEN days arrghh.

II had an upper molar out two weeks ago and also get headaches and the teeth next to it seem to be sensitive too.

Dentist didn't say this would happen and in fact prescribed ibruprofim which gave me chest pains a feeling of not being with it and headaches. I'm now just taking Paracaetamol when I can't bear it any more but don't want to keep taking them.
When I had root canal work prior to a bridge being made (same teeth) I had pain and aching for literally years. One stupidly thinks that taking out the tooth stops the problem but for some like me (and others it appears) it seems to make it worse

II had an upper molar out three weeks ago because my bridge of 38 years broke but since having the remaining bits of tooth out I get headaches which nothing seems to be able to stop. The teeth next to also seem to be sensitive too. When I had the bridge fitted the root canal work went on and on and was painful so the dentist finally stopped but afterwards I suffered from an ache for years which I think I just got used to. The Eastman dental clinic told me it was my pain sensors which didn't switch off but I thought once I had the source of all that discomfort sorted (ie two bits of teeth extracted) it would stop. But it seems to be with me now forever.

The Dentist who took the two teeth out didn't say I would get headaches and in fact prescribed ibruprofim for the after extraction pain which he should've known, reacted badly with my Citalopram and gave me chest pains a feeling of not being with it plus headaches. I'm now just taking Paracaetamol when I can't bear it any more but don't want to keep taking them.
