Ankle fracture when on holiday

Wise mumsnetters, does anyone happen to have any advice / hints and tips / recommendations on what can make my life a bit easier?

Fractured my ankle whilst on holiday with DH and my 2 year old, now in a cast - how do I fly back? Do I need to buy some genius device that will make all the difference?

An update: if you have a broken ankle, do not fly Ryanair... Airport assistance took me through security and to the plane which was very helpful - but I literally had to fend for myself on the plane, no extra space, no extra seat, and not even a cushion provided to put underneath my leg on the plane. When I asked whether there is something that can be used to prop the leg up, the answer was "No, nothing available". Ended up with a homemade cushion of a bag of nappies wrapped in a baby changing mat...

Oh, we also had to check in some of our hand luggage as I couldn't carry anything and DH had his hands full with a two year old - we have obviously been charged for this too.
