urea and electrolytes satisfactory in 3 year old blood test

Can someone please advise ?

I'm waiting to speak to a doctor next week but I'm out of my mind with worry. My daughter is only three.

Received a text to say it's satisfactory but no further action is needed. Surely in a three year old this shouldn't be satisfactory?

Thanks

What do you think satisfactory means?

inla92 · 27/09/2023 18:53

@VariationsonaTheme it means satisfactory. Just like a test you would take...not normal but just about in the normal range. Which I don't think is right for a three year old it should be 'normal'. All other bloods were normal. She's been complaining of stomach and back pain for months and crying over it some days.

No advice as I'm not a medical expert but currently going through the same with DD2. You have my sympathy as it is really worrying.

I'm not sure I fully understand your question but my experience was the same with terminology. Everything was defined as 'normal' apart from this test. I wasn't specifically told it was satisfactory but was told the result held 'no clinical significance'. The results show high credanine levels and low glucose level.

The gp appointment following the tests were to do DD BP, height, weight, felt stomach and back, listened to chest and stomach spoke through pain etc again.

I was told the blood tests are not concerning but do not provide answers for stomach pain so have been referred to peads consultant for review.

I did request the blood results in writing.

I hope you get answers soon.
