Chest wall pain but in the breast?

Has anyone ever had chest wall pain that feels as though it’s in a breast? Not over the sternum area, kind of at the side on the breast part that is nearly on the armpit? I’ve had awful pain there for a few months radiating from one very specific area around the size of a 10p. It’s not a lymph node. My GP says that the pain is coming from just behind the breast rather than the breast itself so it must be chest wall pain.

a) I’m hoping she is right but it’s a bit weird and I can’t help worrying a bit.
b) why would I have chest wall pain there?? I’ve had costochondritis before but that was the sternum area.

I have what sounds like a very similar thing. I've been checked out for it twice now, last summer I went to the GP because it was bothering me, though I couldn't feel any lumps or anything. GP couldn't feel anything either so advised getting a better fitting bra (which I did, and abandoned underwiring forever!)

I had a routine mammogram in October, which was clear, but the pain has persisted. It's on one side only and feels like a sort of pulling sensation inside, like an elastic band stretched too tight. I felt anxious ignoring it as it feels so odd and went back to the GP who kindly referred me to the local breast clinic.

My appointment was this week and the consultant had a good feel. Couldn't find anything worrying and said the pain is coming from the muscle in the chest wall, behind the breast tissue, and is likely caused by the breast pulling on the muscle. She advised me to wear a soft bra for sleeping in and to rub ibuprofen gel into the side of the breast 3 times a day for no less than 6 weeks (it takes a while to penetrate apparently.) Just to be sure I also had another mammogram while I was there, and again this one was clear.

I'd say it's a good idea to go to the GP just to be on the safe side, but it seems this weird pain can be one of those things which is annoying but not sinister.

That is all such helpful and information @BeforetheFlood , thank you so much. I don’t want to go back unless a lump appears or similar because I feel like I am always at the doctors for something and I hate them thinking I’m wasting their time. I’ll try everything mentioned in your post and 🤞
