I thought that UTIs come with temperatures and other symptoms ...
She is dry throughout the night (had a wee at 11pm when she woke up after a bad dream but not waking for the loo) but needs to go literally every 15/20 minutes throughout the day. No temperature or pain ... just desperate for a wee.
Can you have a UTI with no temp or pain?
She's got a doctor's appointment tomorrow but not till the afternoon ...
Any ideas gladly received

Yes yes yes, you can have a UTI without temp or pain, especially if you're a LO

Lots of water to drink and off to GP for ABs if not better yet, methinks! Hope mini-ghosty better soon.

WEIRD this is precisely the same as my dd1, also 4.
I was going to leave it till tomorrow to see if she was any better.
should I make an appointment?

Elibean · 04/03/2008 16:11

Not sure...I probably would, but then the GP is next door and encourages Mums to pop in to check things out. If she feels fine, you could always give her plenty of water and wait and see - but peeing that often doesnt' sound normal to me, and UTIs are fairly common in 4 yr old girls, apparently. Hope she's ok

Oh harpsi, shall we start a club?
I have just taken a wee sample from DD - she found that amusing
After saying she isn't wetting the bed it has just dawned on me that after being the best sleeper in the world she has recently started waking a couple of times a night too - and this must be the reason ...

Off to doctor at 1.30 this afternoon - will let you know
Thanks Elibean x

My dd had no symptons apart from peeing herself.

I started a thread about my ds (4) a couple of months ago. weeing every 10-15 mins took him to dr as no other symptoms they did normal urine tests etc and everything was fine. Although he was still weeking.
I did extensive googling and came up with a syndrome whihc often affects this age and can last a couple of weeks to a few months and then they just grow out of it. It seemed to fit with my ds who has now stopped doing it but was very worrying (and annoying) at the time. Get a check up anyway and I will try to find name of the syndrome

Hi - just came back from the doc's. I took in a sample and he did a dipstick test which was negative for any infection but he has asked me to get another sample to send off to the lab. Easier said than done as there is only a dribble of wee every time she goes ... anyhow, got home and managed to catch the elusive pee, I think enough to be more than a dribble.
I counted how many times she went between 11.30am and 1.30pm ... it was no less than 9 times
