What's this rash? *Pic included*

My son (13) has autism like me and pretty severe health anxiety so he struggles massively with going to the GP and social communication.

He had a meltdown this morning because he's noticed a rash on his skin just below his chest on the left side.

Can anyone tell me what this might be please?
I'm hoping it's an irritation from the washing powder rather than anything else like an infection. Getting him to see a GP is very difficult.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I could do with help regarding his autism as well but as I know from my own personal experience there's little support out there for autism.

Thank you in advance x

Hard to say without a better pic.
Is there a difference in skin texture or is it just discoloured?

Do you have pets?

Hi LittleEsme,

No pets no as I'm allergic.

There's a little difference in skin traits texture but mostly it's just discoloured. I asked and he said it doesn't itch.

For his b day I bought him a football onesie and the inside is wooly so I'm wondering if it's irritated his skin. I'll keep an eye on it and see if it starts to fade, if not then I'll try to get him to see the GP.

Best wishes,
AutisticCharlie.

Hello,

I took a better pic now hoping it shows more detail of the rash.

Looking at it I think it might be more an irritation from washing powder or his clothing but not 100% sure.

Whatever it is it looks very slight and non-worrying.

A slight knock or graze or squeeze can cause red marks that are not quite a bruise. Has he been taking part in sport or outdoor walks / active stuff?
