@Youthinkyoureuniqueyourejustastatistic never tried to squeeze it as it’s an area on my face didn’t want it to get infected . 🥳

I really don’t think it looks like a bcc at all but def looks like a cyst. My father is covered in bcc’s and I have numerous melanomas. Just pop to gp as it may need looking at if it’s infected-maybe antibiotics.please try not to get really worried about it.

@Goldmember hopefully it’s just that . Appreciate your time !

I'm not medically trained but have had a lot of cysts, most of which have had to be surgically removed.
I'd recommend a hot compress to bring the goo to the surface and it may pop on its own.

I was going to ask if you were a student doctor or nurse, they tend to diagnose themselves with whatever they are studying at the time. Non clinical but I had 4/5 BCC's in for excision today and I'd say that's a cyst, besides BCC's very rarely cause issues, are easily removed under LA, so shouldn't be a source of anxiety anyway

Powerplant · 11/09/2023 22:39

I know how health anxiety affects people and am sorry you are so worried. Make an appointment with your gp for diagnoses. I had a similar lump for at least 25 years 😳 it started to erupt after an immunisation I needed. It stank lol and I was not in the U.K. so needed abx when I arrived home. I can only say it looks very similar to the lump I had on my back. Speak to your gp 😊

@GreyTS I am studying pharmacy 🥹 but that’s true . My main interest is cardiovascular diseases and diabetes I have high passion to help people try to manage their sugars and rarely do I attach anything I study to myself . Oncology is a different story .

@Powerplant definitely , I feel more sober that you said 25 years!! Did it slowly grow during the years ?

It mainly stayed dormant but now and again felt a bit itchy and more swollen and my OH was so keen to squeeze it which I let him - I know I know - but it allowed some relief. Had a surgeon see it and he said to complete a course of antibiotics. I watch Dr Emma Crawthorne? on the bad skin clinic which is interesting. Just speak to an HCP to check it out.

Just read a few of the reply's and that's what mine was a sebaceous cyst.
It was actually during pregnancy it changed for me!

Palpal12 · 18/09/2023 05:46

update : went to a dermatologist to check this cyst and another mole . She said it’s a cyst and the mole was normal with hair sprouting and to remove just for peace of mind since I came for something so minor .

Thanks for everyone that took the time to comment.
