Pain throughout cycle

Wasn't sure what to post this under, so just picked general health, but basically..

For the past say 5 months I've had random on off cramping throughout my cycle, at first I assumed it was ovulation but as the months pass its been getting more frequent and more painful. A couple cycles ago I had an unusually long cycle (48 days or so) when I'm usually quite regular (28 days) There was no apparent reason for this.
Then, a few days ago I started getting quite severe pain in my lower back/pelvis, more on my left side and still had the cramps which feel like contractions/period cramps. The pain subsided after a couple days then I woke up with a large patch of fluid, almost like I'd wet the bed but I hadn't (no where near enough and didn't smell of urine) then shortly after had some thick brown discharge. I'm due on my period so just thought period was starting but then there was nothing for the rest of the day, then today I'm getting bad cramps and think my period is coming.

The day I the back pain started I went to see a Dr, who said the pain in my back and the cramps seem to be related and has sent off for an ultrasound, I'm still waiting for the appointment letter to arrive in the post.

Also to add, when I was a teenager (I'm 32 now) I had a few months of missing my period, I wasn't pregnant then I had a gush of liquid, similar to what happened the other night. I never got it checked out with a Dr.

I don't know if it's relevant but I was quite neglected growing up and always wanted to have a baby, I had unprotected sex between the ages of 13 and 18 and never got pregnant, I assumed I was infertile.
Until I was 19, I had my first baby, I have 4 kids now.

Please don't judge me, I know i was young and foolish, I was just desperate to feel loved and have someone to love. I'm very happy to have my children and feel blessed, I'm just trying to be honest to give a whole picture.

Does anyone know what could be going on with me? I still have the pain in the left back of my pelvis but it's not as severe as the other day.

I noticed you hadn't had many responses, I don't have any experience but this is what ChatGPT4 says in case it's useful

I'm sorry you're going through this, and please know that there's no judgment here. Your history provides important context to understand your health. Here are a few possible conditions that might match your symptoms, but it's crucial to get a diagnosis from a healthcare professional:

  1. *Ovarian Cyst*: Ovarian cysts are sacs filled with fluid that can form on the ovaries. They can cause pain, especially if they rupture or twist. This could potentially be the source of the pain and the irregular cycles.
  1. *Endometriosis*: This is a condition where the tissue similar to the lining inside the uterus, called endometrium, starts to grow outside the uterus. This can cause pain and sometimes even irregular bleeding.
  1. *Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID)*: This is an infection of the female reproductive organs. It can cause pelvic pain and unusual discharge.
  1. *Miscarriage or Early Pregnancy Changes*: It's also possible to have a very early miscarriage without knowing you were pregnant. This can sometimes lead to irregular bleeding and pain. It would be a good idea to rule out any pregnancy-related issues, especially if you've been sexually active without contraception.
  1. *Fibroids*: These are non-cancerous growths that can form in or around the uterus. They can cause pain and changes in the menstrual cycle.
  1. *Other Possibilities*: There are various other conditions related to the reproductive system, kidneys, and gastrointestinal system that might cause similar symptoms.

Given the symptoms you've mentioned and their persistence, it's essential to pursue further evaluation, as you've started to do. An ultrasound can provide a lot of information about what's going on in your pelvis, and it's a good starting point.

Please continue to follow up with your doctor and pursue the ultrasound. Understanding the root cause of your symptoms is vital, both for your peace of mind and for receiving any necessary treatment. Remember to provide your full medical history and all symptoms to the healthcare professional evaluating you, as this will aid in diagnosis and care.

Thank you so much for your response, I think it sounds like a ruptured ovarian cyst, hopefully the ultrasound I'm waiting for will shed light on what's goin on.

I have the copper coil so I'm pretty sure it's not pregnancy related
