I'm mid 40s and feeling increasingly old and achy.

I have diastasis recti (weak and separated abdominals) that I've tried (not v hard!) to fix with exercise and that still causes me pain and embarrassment (I look pregnant - that's the muscle damage and more recently tummy weight gain on top) 8 years after my youngest was born. It also limits what exercise I can do without making it worse and/or causing me pain. I am a size 12-14. Always been a solid 12 until I had kids.

I also have high arches and underpronate according to a foot doctor I saw last year.

I have groin pain after lots of walking and sitting. I can't run at all but ran a fair bit before all you'd started. I get lower back pain on the right (burning and just need to sit down or lie down and stretch) on one side, the outsides of both my feet burn/ache, my right hip aches and wakes me at night and each of my buttocks is v tender if I press where it aches.

What's going on? Any ideas? Should I see the GP/osteo/physio? Do I need blood tests or scans? Do I need supplements? I WFH mainly in a desk job. Gym / class once or twice a week and 8-10,000 steps daily. I do the odd YouTube workout/yoga/ stretch too.

Thanks

I started with terrible groin pain and got diagnosed with hip arthritis I’m 44 in a couple of months. The pains horrific and it’s totally changed my life.

I’d start with a decent physio. I think you could have some weaknesses/imbalances related to your feet issues that have a knock on effect.

Thank you. I do feel that my pain may be linked to my totally ineffective core.

But arthritis and similar run in my family so I'm keen to rule that stuff out.

I know from experience that groin pain can be caused by hip problems. So it could be an indicator of the. Like a previous poster, I have groin pain due hip arthritic changes.

I'd go to the Drs & see if you can get an X-ray & you can also do the physios too
