Humidifier or DEHUMIDIFIER for bad hay fever?

TriedTurningItOff · 05/09/2023 06:34

Please help MN. Am not in the UK, and am suffering the worst seasonal rhinitis I've had for a long time. Antihistamines and cortisone sprays are not helping. So I want to try an air purifier. The one I'm eyeing comes with either a humidifier or a dehumidifier. WTAF? How can both be on offer? And which do I need for my hayfever ????

Grateful for some learned advice!

A humidifier will help if you have issues with dry nose / throat but a standard air purifier will help the most.

You need an air purifier

You need an air filter. Just a standard air filter. Nothing else required, mire to come wrong. Bosch do a great one.

Thanks all. The reason I'm even considering the humidifier/dehumidifier issue is that I'm not in the UK, and it's hard to get well-made goods here. The one brand name I recognise and trust is Meaco, but that only comes with a humidifier/dehumidifier.

I agree with PP,you need an air purifier.

have you also used a sinus flush? A friend recommended me one when I had Covid and it was good.

What's a sinus flush please @cricketbelle? Is that squirting water into the nose to come out the other nostril? I've used it for a cold but never thought to try it for hayfever
