depends on how long the runs have been with her, if for a day or so, keep her on solids (so they say) if they have been there longer you could try a 24 hour starvation
All dairy may be a trigger

Called me from nursery - started at 12:15. It is truly the most foul smelling poo ever. But she cries and grips onto me whenever it starts...must be so painful.

acidophilus - probiotic formula e.g banana acidophilus by biocare - you can add to water or juice or rice milk whilst ill. you poor thing - sounds awful

Oral rehydration stuff is probably the best bet, to get her stabilised - Dioralyte or the homemade equivalent. It's not medicine, just a mix of salt and sugar that you combine with water. It's totally safe for two-year-olds.

It may be that the diarrhoea is necessary, her body is getting rid of something or fighting something, but the Dioralyte will keep her from getting dehydrated.

Thanks all - she's made an amazing recovery - running round like a mad thing all day today, her usual happy self.
