A couple weeks ago I had wounds from scratching the tops of my feet they've healed but I'm just surprised at how they look is this normal and does it just take a long time for the skin to heal back to normal? Thankyou.

They don't look healed x

I’d be trying some hydrocortisone cream on that, it looks sore.
Try Eurax cream for itching in future.

Dreamer2027 · 03/09/2023 18:32

I can post a pic of how it was 2 weeks ago? I have been using hydrocortisone cream they still get itchy too

Is the red area hotter than the rest of your foot ?

Dreamer2027 · 04/09/2023 07:28

It does itch and burn at times but not really hotter

my discoid eczema itches and burns

DustyLee123 · 04/09/2023 09:47

I’d be thinking of seeing a GP as it’s been going on for a couple of weeks, but first I’d ask a pharmacist as it might be worth trying an anti fungal cream first.

That looks like pompholx eczema. You get it on hands and feet and it itches like the bloody devil. The little blisters can pop and be very sore and the skin can peel too. You need strong steriod cream from a GP.

I'm going mad with the tops of my feet the intensity of the burning and itching. They burn and itch so much and feel so prickly and I need to scratch my feet off. I've tried hydrocortisone cream/ointment, hydromol ointment, epaderm, epimax ointment, canestan cream and nothing changes. I seem my gp yesterday I have a severe flare up of eczema too and the gp gave me clarithromycin antibiotics. The Gp told me to use steroid cream but they burn so much. Anyone please have any suggestions how I can repair my feet?

You're going to have to stop scratching them somehow or you'll end up in a sorry state. Have you tried calamine lotion?

Dreamer2027 · 08/09/2023 17:49

No haven't tried calamine lotion. My GP told me not to scratch too. I have a very bad eczema flare up at the moment but I'm going crazy with the burning sensation and prickly itch of my feet.

You could try a cool foot soak with some bread soda (bicarbonate)

DustyLee123 · 08/09/2023 18:16

Eurax

Neat lavender oil.

Did you get bitten at all?

Oats are soothing - put them in a pair of tights/sock and then swish it round in some crisp water until its milky. Chamomile is also soothing - we used to make up camomile tea, cool it and then use it when the DS's had nappy rash.
I have a bit of eczema and always nicked some of DS2 cetraben cream - it was lovely and cooling - some creams just make my skin feel hot eg E45

Makinglists · 08/09/2023 18:27

Cool water not crisp! Soaking your feet in crisp water would just be weird and a bit salty/you don't need your feet smelling of cheese and onion!!

StanleyGoodspeed · 09/09/2023 09:18

Cetraben cream twice a day and steroids are the only things that work for me
