Red patch of skin on breast??

Healthfreak95 · 23/08/2023 17:01

Hi- firstly I have healthy anxiety so obv the first thing I think is … IBC
just need some reassurance or advice.
im 28, had baby 6months ago, no family history of BC known. Don’t breastfeed.
this red spot / patch (looks like a pimple at times) has appeared and disappeared a few times, never took a lot of notice or worry as was small and went away.
any idea what it could be or? Doctors appt tomorrow btw.
it has tiny veins in also. No itch or scaliness or pain. No lumps found on self check.
any reply would be very much thanked please! ( pic attached up close beside nipple )

@Healthfreak95 great news! They don’t mess around with this kind of thing so clearly not concerned. Bet you it disappears as quickly as it came ❤️

plantingacattree · 24/08/2023 17:50

I get these all the time!! And I also have crippling health anxiety. They were a major concern of mine at first, but I almost 100% assure you that it is nothing to worry about x

Really?? Do you still get them and are they on the boob near nipple location too? Thanks so much! Health anxiety is the worst :((

@Healthfreak95 yes I get them regularly!! For me they are basically blocked pores, or they can just be red little spots, I put it down to sweat sometimes if it's been hot! X

WonderingWanda · 25/08/2023 09:14

After all the changes in breast size post babies mine have much thinner, stretched and drier skin so I regularly get little patches of dry eczema that is a but red and itchy but it always goes away after a few days of moisturising. It might just be that your skin has changed a bit with the after effects of pregnancy. Well done for getting it checked though and pleased to hear gp said it looked fine.

Yes mine looks like a tiny red spot barely risen but with the tiny spider veins in it one or two, can you see little veins in yours? I’m thinking it might be a blocked pore or hair follicle even ! 🙏

I really hope so! It looks a tiny bit smaller and less red but will give it the 2-4 weeks like he said and my regular GP is back in office then the end of sept so will pop in for an appt with her also! Hopefully it’ll be long gone by then! 🙏🙏 I wouldn’t worry only the tiny spider veins it’s hard to find much info on it! @WonderingWanda

@plantingacattree how long have you had yours and can you see tiny little veins also? I mean minuscule one or two red veins x

OP posts:
plantingacattree · 25/08/2023 10:36

@Healthfreak95 they can last anywhere from a couple of days to over a week... I would completely mess with it and make it worse so they lasted longer/took longer to heal. I have the veins all the time, but if I get a little spot there are slightly more of them, but yes they are so tiny. The more you mess with it the more things will appear 😆
Health anxiety is so awful! Especially when it comes to boobs... they tell you to keep an eye out for changes and lumps etc... but they're mostly made up of lumps and bumps anyway!!

Healthfreak95 · 28/08/2023 10:43

Hey guys.. still pretty much still there! HA is awful as I’m on / off spiralling at times but have to try remind myself it surely would be growing or changing if it were serious. Seems a little bit smaller, there about 5 days or so now, anyone experience similar 🙈 just need more reassurance sorry!!

@plantingacattree thanks for your response also! Only seeing it now apologies! Mines there about a week Tuesday/Wednesday so just about. Seems to be much the same but I am touching it and looking everyday so 😂 I’ll post another photo of it to see does it look similar !

Some Breast centres are now doing walk ins.
Could you enquire?
This is the only way you will get reassurance.

Just back from the doctors so had a look and a feel, no lumps bumps etc and reckons it looks like some sort of tiny bruise from a pinch or scratch. Asked me to come back if it changes or if it hasn’t gone in 2-4 weeks! So just to wait and see now really!

Really glad to read this. It's never worth leaving even a small change so I am really glad you got it checked! Onwards! Flowers

@TheFormidableMrsC exactly. I would never leave anything new too long without being seen.
the mark is still there but has gotten smaller and looks more like a scar from me being at it 😂 will keep an eye but thankfully hasn’t gotten bigger or worse in any way!

Hey everyone OP here! :)
just wanted to update here as a lot of people don’t & I find that irritating at times when seeking reassurance.
spot / patch is basically gone! Actually what’s left is a little pore sort of yellow / green tinged, not painful but looks like a clogged pore! Still have an appt with my gp for 2 weeks time & will get her to do a full check over everything & will update on here whilst she does.
health anxiety is horrible & trying to get rid of it is the hardest part 🙈 any tips on it? 😂

It just needs time.
Glad you're getting checked, keep us updated.

Princessconsuelabananahammock9 · 26/09/2023 05:12

I highly recommend meds. I have OCD and ADHD and after my best friend died of cancer unexpectedly my health anxiety has gone even more extreme.

Meds have helped.
