Overactive Thyroid / body aches

Hi guys! I’m hoping for some reassurance really. I am currently 4 months PP. Everything was going really well until I had hit just over 2 months PP. I started with chest pains (under my left collet bone and just above my left boob) which just wouldn’t shift. After a few hospital visits where they ran an ECG, chest x ray and blood work they concluded that the pain is muscular from lifting my 10LB baby, who I only left on my left side exclusively.

Anyway, a month or so goes by and the pain some what eases, then out of nowhere I start with a sore throat and the feeling that something is stuck. My hair then started to fall out (normal PP stuff) and I started to lose weight. As well as this I started getting random twitches in my legs and really painful knees. After a few visits to the docs and some blood work related to my Thyroid, it was determined that I was suffering with an overactive Thyroid and I am currently awaiting my referral. The doc didn’t seem to concerned and believes it’s more PP related.

it’s been a a horrible 2 months. I’ve had a racing heart, the worse anxiety and the constant fear of dread. At current, I continue to have a dull ache under my left breast (more my ribs) and shooting pains in the centre of my chest. I do think this could be somewhat related to lifting my heavy son as I have a constant dull ache and pain around my shoulder blades. All other blood work like WBC, RBC, all was fine.

I think what I’m really looking forward is someone to say they have had the same symptoms and experiences. I’m so worried something is seriously wrong with me. I’m really trying to enjoy this new chapter but I’m struggling.

Not PP relating but I'm now in remission for Graves' disease / overactive thyroid. Are you being medicated while awaiting referral?

Unfortunately it can take a while for the symptoms to calm down but it does get better. Be kind to yourself as it's a marathon not a sprint.

I do also suffer chronic pain (apparently it was exacerbated by the thyroid issues according to my endocrinologist) but the chest pain sounds different. That I would keep an eye on but I'm no expert and not trying to give medical advice.

I hope you feel better soon

Thank you so much for your reply.
Im not being medicated at the moment, I wish I was!!

the chest pain is an odd one, im not sure if even to describe it as that, it’s like sharp dull aches if that makes sense.

It’s bonkers, I was literally in a bath on a Sunday night and got out of the bath and all this started. I’m just wanting to feel like me again x

I become overactive randomly, usually pp too. I get the most horrendous chest pains too. Also feeling faint and the usual heart racing. The thyroid doctor (can't mind the name) says it was due to my breathing I wasn't breathing proper breathes just shallow ones due to the raging anxiety.

Strange, they haven't started you on meds while you wait it could be months. While you're not medicated, it might be worth looking up thyroid storms just to be informed to look for symptoms.

It's awful I really hope you feel more you soon
