A huge blister undre her eye , it looks a bit like a burn, where the hell has it come from? what is it?

Shee seems ok (not crying or anything)

Could it be a reaction to something, banana?

Is it a blister or a hive? A hive can look like a blister but is often an allergic reaction.

Marne · 28/02/2008 16:42

Its whitish and red/soar around the edges

Smalar to that but just one blister/hive under her eye.

Could it be something i cleaned her high chair with?

If it is an allergic reaction then you need to watch her carefully in case it spreads and especially if it spreads towards her mouth and lips.

How old is she? Did you give her any new foods or foods she has only had once or twice before?

Marne · 28/02/2008 16:47

just looked at it again and it does look more like a burn

I'm sure her food was cool enough when i gave it to her, i feel like an terible mummy maybe it was too hot

OP posts:

i cant find any anywhere else, which makes me think its a burn

Should i put something on it or is it too late for cold water or burn spray?

but it would have to be something seriously hot to give her a bright red burn - plus surely she would have cried out?

Marne · 28/02/2008 16:57

Dd's a tough nut, so she might not have cried, she did chuck her food onto the floor like she did'nt want it.

I always put their dinner near the window for a few minutes to cool it before giving it to them so it would'nt have been realy hot.

She is rubbing her eyes, shes almost 2 but does'nt talk so i can't ask her.

If it was a reaction would'nt there be more blisters?

There would not necessarily be more blisters if it is a reaction to something that has touched her skin (as opposed to having been ingested).

DD is very allergic to cows milk. If she swallows it she gets hives all over, but if a drop just falls on her skin she gets one hive where it touched her.
