Leg and back pain every night

Hello!

I just want a bit of advice here or see if anyone has gone or is going through the same thing, if you've gone to the GP and if so, what treatment you're on?

I'm 26, healthy-ish. Definitely not overweight but I could lose a couple of KG (maybe 5kg). I have a very very very active DS who is 7 and a half months old and is very close to walking 🥲. So I do have my hands very full.

Before I even married and had kids I've noticed that if I'm active during the day, by night time I'm extremely sore and I get tired super super quick. After school I had to nap especially after puberty. When I worked in hospitality by the time I'm home I'm sore all over, and no one seemed to relate (I was standing on reception). There were times I'd be doing a busy late shift then be on an early 7-3 shift. When I got home, again, I'd be knocked out for hours so I made sure to shower and go to bed. I used to wake up around 7 for dinner, and go back to sleep.

In the morning I used to be ok but now that I have a very very active baby and a super active puppy the same age I'm just constantly sore and nackered is an understatement. 😩. My routine is waking up at 08:30 with baby, breakfast, walk dog for 30 mins to 1hr depending on weather, get home, play with baby and let him crawl around the living room supervised (at this point I am ready for a nap), if baby then takes a nap I do all the housework, baby wakes up, lunch, walk dog, rinse and repeat until 8pm when baby goes to bed and he's asleep by 9. if we go out im even more sore/sleepy. I chill in bed with him for an hour as we do skin to skin for bed and cuddle.

I am so so sore. I really don't know why. My knees pop all the time (even before DS) and it makes me agitated and bothers me a lot if I want to work out or go upstairs so I never bother unless I have to, because of how much it annoys me and the feeling is pure cringe.

My upper back also hurts, but it's my legs and back and sides that are the worst culprits. Im super exhausted all the time. The doctors are playing this off as normal and my bloods are normal, but I don't feel normal? I see women doing way more than me during the day and they don't feel the same way as I do?

Any ideas or any advice would be much appreciated.

See a physiotherapist. They are far better than doctors at getting to the heart of a problem. They may give you particular exercises to strengthen your troubled areas. It's definitely not normal at 26 to be suffering. I thought you were my age; 60s as l found as l got older l get some pain but not at 26. See a physio who hopefully will help.

I wonder if you have hyper mobility.

PragmaticWench · 10/08/2023 07:39

If a physio can't see anything unusual, like hypermobility, then a rheumatology referral might be a good idea.

JustDanceAddict · 10/08/2023 08:50

It could be hypermobility. Although good luck w a rheumatology referral, my ds (19) is still waiting…

I never thought it may be hypermobility! I always thought that hypermobility meant that you were super flexible and if you bent down you could touch the floor etc which I can't do 🥲 thank you everyone. I'll give the GP another call and see what they can do because honestly I'm always stiff and sore.

I went through a phase where walking around all day induced super backache. Doing 20 mins of Adriene every day really helped - built up some core muscles I think! Do you have 20 mins? (You do sound REALLY busy, but 20 min is probably worth it to improve your sleep, maybe.)

hypermobility or low vitamin D would be my suggestions. Also, if you're on your feet and you're flat footed but don't wear shoes within enough support that can really make your legs, feet and back ache.

I'll definitely give it a try! Thank you for the suggestion ❤️
