My brains not working this morning. What questions should we ask.
It's to do with this. She has been having lots of headaches and nose bleeds so we will ask about them.
To be honest i have pushed it to the back of my mind while worrying about a friend with cancer. But now the day has arrived i'm really worried.

Good luck - sorry I have no more to add, but have no experience of this, just wanted to reply to you.

Hope it goes well. I'm sure the neurologist will answer your questions before you've even thought of them! x

Thanks pindy.I think i'm just stressing.
What i really want is somebody to say my dd will be alright.
I just hope they have the EEG results and tell us when the brain scan will be.

No doubt he will also answer ones that you would never have thought of!!!

Remember - there is nothing wrong in telling him how concerned and worried you are, he will understand this and any questions that you want to ask - no matter how silly you think they are - ask them, he will have heard them before.

Let us know how you get on.

We had some very good news.Dd has not got epilepsy and will not have to have a brain scan.
She has a condition called Reflex Anoxic Seizures. This is to do with her heart not her brain. When she has a shock or in pain her heart beat slows down to much. This slows her blood flow so she falls unconscious.
The consultant told us this was one of the most misdiagnosed conditions, with many being wrongly diagnosed with epilepsy.
Its alot to take in at the moment because we know nothing about the condition. But i'm so glad we are getting answers.
Thank you for caring.

Well that is brilliant news, about the epilepsy. I have not heard of the condition she has got, but I would imagine easier to control and without the side effects.

I'm sure you must be feeling quite relieved, how is your dd about it?

Take care.

madmommy6 - my dd1 has RAS - she has had six seizures between the ages of 10 months and 2 years, and hopefully now has grown out of them.

There is a support website STARS, if you google it.

My dd1 was tested for epilepsy, then diagnosed with 'crying spells'

As you well know, crying spells and RAS are very different things!

My paediatrician friend in the UK finally diagnosed my dd1 with RAS.

I have to admit, I thought of RAS when I saw your original thread, but I thought your dd was too old to have it.

madmommy6 · 29/02/2008 14:26

pindy yes its brill news.Dd is fine about it to be honest.I think she did abit of research last night.

belgo thanks for the website,i'll have a look.
It looks like she had these seizures when she was little too. Then when she was about 13yr old, then nothing till the last one the begining of Jan.
