Can anyone with experience give me examples of behaviour in a man with ADHD please?

Thanks

You can watch the Sam Thompson ahdh docu on 4od. I found it quite interesting.

Ds1 (28) has ADHD diagnosed at 7 and medicated soon after. He finds that without medication he feels very irritable and short tempered. He can’t focus on tasks and words become jumbled up on a page or a screen. He becomes very loud and feels as if he’s not in control. Even with medication he struggles to work full time and needs a lot of downtime to recover.

my 38 yr old son, literally bounces up and down when chatting/relaxing with family. fidgets
has several odd and unique interests (for a period of time) like skydiving, deep water free diving oh and spears fish, researched raising pigeons extensively as well as rabbit.
misses out on parts of conversations then comments which are most often hilarious.
not on prescribed meds, has an excellent college degree.
my 40 yr old and 50 yr old son in law, inattentive adhd and really that's it. unless they are interested they are zoned out to lunch BUT both can focus if needed. for a long time ds used caffeine (now has stomach issues and switched to some med), son in law is self employed and will take the occasional prescribed med if needed (attending long boring legal meetings).
my dd most likely has the hyperactive variety (fitness +++) and she claims my dh has it as well although i don't see it.

@ssd nothing to be sorry about, all three are lovely kind and fun.
do you have a question or concern?

There are different types of ADHD so every person is going to be different. Google higher executive functioning difficulties, time blindness etc as a starting point. Not everyone has hyperactivity. The issues it causes changes a lot over a lifetime. Think of it like a music mixing desk- so the things that cause problems one day might be turned down the next with other issues causing problems.

My DH (42) has inattentive ADHD. He regularly forgets things, struggles to organise himself, follow multi step instructions. Finds it hard to start tasks. Struggles to stop a task he’s focussed on. Remembers random things in detail. Very clever but it can be frustrating when he doesn’t remember plans etc.
