Has anyone else tried this for night time urine frequency? I'm having my first treatment next week and am a bit nervous.

I've been up all night to pee for years and am so tired of not getting a decent night's sleep, so there's a lot riding on this (including actually being 100% awake during sex!).

Had the treatment last week and now waiting to see if it fixes anything. So far I'm still up 4x a night and feel quite sore 'inside' a bit like cystitis. Has anyone else tried this and how was the recovery?

No experience of this but watching with interest as I'm up frequently in the night to pee, so can sympathise with the lack of sleep thing.

If you don't mind me asking - how many treatments have they advised you to have? Also, how is the injection administered? Does it go through the abdomen?

OK, ignore my second question as I just Googled it. It did say it can take 3-4 days (or up to 3 weeks) to feel the benefits, so I hope it eases things for you soon. Please come back and update as to how you get on.

Hoping it does sort itself out soon, as we are off to Canada in a few weeks and sharing accommodation with friends, so want to avoid the embarrassment of frequent nocturnal visits!😊

Don't you have to self catheterise if you have Botox in the bladder?

RosemaryDill · 21/08/2023 15:41

Interested in this as it was recommended to me 25 years ago when I had cystocele and rectocele after childbirth. I never did anything about it though.
Recently I've been up 3/4 times instead of my usual 2.

I haven't but my Mum did a few years ago. Initially, there didn't seem to be much of an improvement, but after about 4 weeks, it seemed to be really improving!

ItWasneaMe · 21/08/2023 15:49

Only if it works too well and you then can't pee at all.

So, 2 weeks later, and the only thing that seems to have changed is that I have to try harder when I pee, to make sure I empty. I feel sensitive down there and it hasn't stopped the urge to go. I was up 7 times last night. I feel utterly worn down, humiliated and embarrassed.

It's bank holiday Monday and I can't enjoy a lie in as I've been up 3x since 6am.

Looks like I'm one of the 20% for whom it doesn't work.

TicTacNicNak & rfr - I'm hanging on to the hope that maybe it will take just a little longer and it will sort itself out. Apparently I've had a minimum dose (100 units) & they can try 200 but my follow up phone call isn't until October, so maybe it will be OK by then.

I'm most worried now about my 3 weeks Road trip to Canada, (flying out in 2 weeks) peeing all the bl@@dy time and asking my friends to pull over (what, again?). I've bought a sheewee, but will be so embarrassed if I have to use it.

I didn't put in my original post that at 59 years old, I've never felt like such an old lady.

Little update. Decided that 1st treatment really hadn't worked. Still up lots at night. Went to have 2nd treatment with twice the dose and ended up in tears so didn't go ahead. Surgeon suggested a couple more tests for reassurance and then come back after Xmas as he could see I really wasn't sure.

I just don't have any confidence that I won't end up still feeling the urge, but being unable to empty as at the moment it takes ages and several changes of position, which is just stupid.

I do feel for you OP and can empathise. I'm 60 myself and will often need to go around 4 times in the night. Can't enjoy going out anywhere as I know I'll need to find a toilet frequently. I'm often dehydrated as I won't drink much for fear of filling my bladder. On top of the osteoarthritis in my knees, I too feel like an old lady and can feel no joy for the future.
